Our History
Over the years we have out-grown two premises, and in 1986 opened our existing office at 77-79 Dundee Street, Carnoustie, with a service room seating 90 mourners, two rest rooms and purpose-built mortuary.
Selwood is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), the British Institute of Funeral Directors (BIFD) and the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF).
- Lindsay passed away in January 2017, Norma continues to run the family business.
- Dale Martin Dip.FD, Dip.FAA grandson of Lindsay and Norma joined the family firm in 2012.
- Robin Marshall Dip.FD joined the firm on a part-time basis at first, then become full-time in 1994, and gained his NAFD Diploma in 1996, and is also a member of the British Institute of Funeral Directors.
- Alan Hendry joined the firm part-time, then full-time in 2016.
- Fraser Nicoll joined the firm 2018.
- Jacqui Laing is the office manager in Carnoustie, while Linda Oliphant and Ursula Ryder take care of administration duties at the Monifieth office.
